  1. Take medications as prescribed. We have prescribed antibiotics, pain relievers, and other medications to help manage pain and prevent infection. Follow the prescribed dosage and schedule.

  2. Control bleeding: Slight bleeding or redness in the saliva is normal after implant surgery. Bite down on gauze pads to control bleeding and replace them every 30-45 minutes until bleeding subsides. Avoid rinsing or spitting for the first 24 hours, and avoid drinking hot liquids, using straws, or smoking.

  3. Apply ice: Apply ice packs to the outside of your face in the area of the surgery for 20 minutes every 2 hours off for the first 24 hours to reduce swelling and bruising.

  4. Maintain oral hygiene: While it's essential to avoid rinsing or spitting for the first 24 hours, you should continue to brush and floss the rest of your teeth as usual after 24 hours. After the first day, you can rinse gently with warm saltwater to promote healing.

  5. Eat soft foods: Eat only soft, cool foods for the first few days following surgery. Avoid hot, spicy, or crunchy foods that may irritate the surgical site. Gradually introduce solid foods as you feel comfortable.

  6. Avoid physical activity: Avoid physical activity for the first few days after surgery. Physical activity increases blood pressure and can cause bleeding and delay healing.

  7. Attend follow-up appointments: Attend all follow-up appointments with Dr. Mohit or Dr. Aditi to monitor healing progress and ensure the success of the implant.

If you experience any unusual symptoms, such as severe pain, bleeding, or swelling, contact Dr. Mohit or Dr. Aditi immediately.
